Day 3. Aug 1: Vogelsang Camp to Lyell Canyon. Back on the JMT. 11 miles

Back to the real world, it was time to rejoin the JMT and head south.  Today had clear blue skies and a cold wind that hikers commented on in passing. I was oblivious to the cold in our nice tents the night before, but I was about to be reminded of what 38 degrees feels like before the end of tonight.

Overall a very nice day walking down to Lyell canyon with its beautiful creek and then walking back up to a lake at 10,000' and my first camp of this trip.
